All Daylilies - 17,264 cultivars not included in the list above, minimally described, plus the above "Daylilies in Commerce" list, merged into one list, alphabetically by cultivar, with descriptions (where available) in English (more or less). This merged listing comprises all 41,562 daylilies registered with the American Hemerocallis Society through 1997. The translation into English is not perfect due to the mechanical methods used, but you will find it adequate in most cases. (Coming some day!)

Also available, by FTP access, are the two lists (not merged) in columnar format (see column descriptions below). Choose: Macintosh Classic (hems.sit.hqx, BinHex file) or PC (hems.zip, ZIP file); password is "guest". Alternate location for these files: Macintosh Classic or PC. After you have connected to the FTP server, navigate to and select the file you want, which will be inside the "daylilies" folder, which is inside the "Sites" folder. Each list is in two parts (so they will fit on most machines); the files can be read by the Excel spreadsheet program on the PC, and by Excel in Microsoft Office on the Mac. You're on your own when you install these files on your computer; no support is implied or will be provided either by me or the creator of the databases.

CULTIVAR - name of daylily (31 characters)
HYBRIDIZER - daylily's creator (24)
YEAR - year of registration with AHS (4)
KEY - cover color of AHS checklist in which the daylily is listed (4)
PAGE - page number in checklist for the listing (not shown for most entries) (4)
INTR - year of introduction; that is, year the daylily was placed in commerce (4)
HT - height of bloom scape (2)
SEA - bloom season: EE=very early; EM=early-midseason; M=midseason; ML=late midseason; VL=very late-season (3)
RE - letters "re" appear if the plant has more than one flush of bloom per season (2)
DIAM - bloom's diameter, in inches (10)
HAB - growth habit: DOR=dormant, SEV=semievergreen, EV=evergreen (3)
PL - ploidy: DIP=diploid, TET=tetraploid. No polyploids, aneuploids, chimeras, triploids or hexaploids appear, identified as such, in the lists. (3)
COLOR - overall color description of the flower (20)
DESCRIPT - specific color descriptions (eyezone, throat, edge, etc.) (20)
FRAG - letters "frag" or "VFR" (very fragrant) appear if the flower is fragrant (4)
NOC - letters "noc" appear if the blooms open at dusk or in the dark (rather than near or after daybreak) (3)
EXT - letters "ext" show if the blooms remain open in the evening or into the night (instead of closing up around sunset) (3)
DBL - letters "dbl" appear if the bloom has three sepals, but more than three petals (3)
SP - letters "sp" appear if the blooms are spidery (5:0 or greater ratio, length of petal to width of petal) or spider-variants (4:1 or greater ratio, up to 5.0) (2)
RATI - if a spider or spider-variant, petal length/width ratio (4)
SSM - year the daylily won the Stout Silver Medal award; only one award given per year (4)
